Daily Bruin Radio is one of the paper's multimedia departments specializing in podcasting and NPR-style journalism. We produce content in conjunction with the other Daily Bruin departments, as well as our own standalone projects. The radio department focuses on using audio to show, not tell, stories in a more intimate, personal light. Interns will learn the basics of news reporting and how to tell a compelling story, both in print and through spoken word. They will also gain valuable live interviewing experience and learn to improvise during conversations with sources. Interns will also work with our audio editing program Audacity to produce their own audio pieces and podcasts. We welcome applicants of all majors and experience levels. In fact, we've had several successful reporters who started with no prior journalism experience. It is not expected that you have experience editing audio either. That said, having strong writing and communication skills is a huge positive, as well as having a strong work ethic and positive attitude. This application closes on Friday, September 30th at 11:59 pm.
